Contents of <head> are not displayed on web page. It contains metadata about the web page contents such as its title ,character set, language, author etc. These metadata are used by search engines to better identify our page contents.
<title> is a sub element of <head>, used to display title of a web page. Like, if you visited google.com, you'll see "Google" written on your tab.
