Donot go on directly the defination . see, electron is so small and if we want to get image of it we need light of wave length which is smaller than diameter of electron. so, light will have higher energy when it strikes electron and we will get the place where electron was but it will change velocity. When velocity changes momentum changes so heisenberg says that we cannot caculate velocity and momentum together

It states that it is impossible to determine simultaneously, the exact position and exact momentum ( or velocity) of an electone (with accuracy) mathematically.
