This is because in unicellular organisms when the parent gets divided into two daughter cells then there is no Residue left behind that so it means that the parent organism is not died in fact it gets converted into two more cells and continue its life in the form of that you daughters

This is bcozz they do not die as they grew old. They usually undergo mitosis to reproduce,in which the organismitself getsdivided into two(cell division).
