Let the number be x. Then,
{tex}{( - 15)^{ - 1}} \div x = {( - 5)^{ - 1}}{/tex}
{tex} \Rightarrow \frac{{{{( - 15)}^{ - 1}}}}{x} = {( - 5)^{ - 1}}{/tex}
{tex} \Rightarrow x = \frac{{{{( - 15)}^{ - 1}}}}{{{{\left( { - 5} \right)}^{ - 1}}}} = {( - 15)^{ - 1}} \div {( - 5)^{ - 1}}{/tex}
{tex} \Rightarrow x = \frac{1}{{( - 15)}} \div \frac{1}{{( - 5)}}{/tex}
{tex} \Rightarrow x = \frac{1}{{( - 15)}} \times \frac{{( - 5)}}{1} = \frac{{ - 5}}{{ - 15}} = \frac{5}{{15}} = \frac{1}{3}{/tex}
Hence, the required number is (3)-1.
