In the poem, ‘an elementary school classroom in a slum’, Stephan Spender deals with the theme of social injustice and class inequalities. There are two different worlds - the world of rich and the world of poor. He wants the authories to realise their moral responsibility to remove the ineualities and free these children from the dull and dreary life and give them a world full of hope, good education, enjoying the bounties of nature and make them create history as they are a part of the society and need to be given opportunity to improve their being.
