Silk is produced from silk worm's cocoon or pupa .this silk is produced when the eggs hatches and then some catterpillar come from them. They eat a lot of mulberry leaves and turn to pupa after 3 to 4 weeks when they are as pupa ;silk thread collecters take the silk thread from the pupa One thing to note is that we find most on mulberry trees only.
