Osmosis is the diffusion of water where molecules of water move passively (without energy) from high concentration to low concentration.
Osmosis is the flow of water down its concentration gradient, across a semi-permeable membrane. Osmosis is an example of diffusion, which is when molecules tend to distribute themselves evenly in a space. The membranes of cells are semi-permeable.
Osmosis is the net movement of water from a region of higher water potential to a region of lower water potential through a partially permeable membrane.
