Because in amniocentesis, amniotic fluid of the developing foetus is taken to analyse the foetal cell and with the use of this technique it is easy to find the gender of the developing foetus and in india we know that when people found that the foetus is a girl ,then they prefer female foeticides . Due to increase in number of female foeticides amniocentesis is banned.
