Yes the traditional handicrafts industries were ruined under British rule as the wanted to convert Indian economy into a feeder economy so that they could get raw materials for their industries established under industrial revolution in Britain and can turn India into a sprawling market for finished goods from Britain.....so in order to achieve this objective they systematically deindustrialised our already established industries
