A single pea plant produces pods with viable seeds because the pea plant is autogamous, i.e. they have the ability of self-pollinating. Therefore, ovules in ovary become seed after fertilization, which are enclosed within the fruits. Whereas the individual papaya plant is prevented from both autogamy and geitonogamy. In this plant, male and female flowers are present on different plants, i.e. each plant is either male or female so, without reaching of pollen grain an individual plant cannot produce seeds.
