Mass number of Carbon (C) = 12.044u Mass number of Hydrogen (H) = 1.008u Thus,mass number of CH4 = (12.044 + 4 ×1.008) = 16.076u Molar mass of CH4 is the mass number of CH4 expressed in grams i.e.16.076 grams or 16 g.
