Yes according to M.Hamel Alsace had a great deal to reproach because earlier anyone didn't give any attention to his mother tongue but after Berlin's order everyone got a huge shock that their mother tongue would not be taught from tomorrow. Franz who didn't like his teacher as well as his school but after that he found his teacher very pleasant and quite . Now his books became his own best friends those which he couldn't give up. Villagers were also studying like students in classroom. According to M.Hamel that was very shameful that anyone didn't know the basic of mother language.
