Status of women in society

The status of women in the society is quite different from what it's said to be. If talking about people they say that women have equal rights, are equally treated etc. But thus is not what is seen. I ask you " is this what you have observed? "If yes that please tell me the place where you have actually seen it not heard people saying it. Sorry to say but atleast I have not seen that. Yes people say that everyone is equal but if this is the age then why do we hear rapes taking place around us… not rarely but often if not heard then please go through any newspaper. Not only this but eve teasing, molestation are also quite common.. Even the cases reported aren't even 20 per cent of the actual cases. So how can we say that women have equal status. Though in some aspects it's improved from the past like the women now a days are allowed to get higher education and even work… which in itself is a great improvement but then again they aren't given equal wages for the same work.. Though we have come far but we still have a long journey to be completed which is only possible if we stop thinking women as an object or entity which belongs to men but rather a normal human who differs from men due to biological differences.
