yes, Meiosis occur in Haplontic organism after zygote formation to equalise the chromosome no. with their parent.

As meisios is a reductional division and uccur in 2n organism forming them (haploid) organism then it cant occur in haploid cell making them n/2 because then no individual cell or organism can form
