The cold war between US and USSR .. was about to convert into the hot war at the time of cuban missilie crisis.. both were ready to shw their power from nuclear wepons... but as they get to know that this will destroy entire world ..80 prcnt frm its explosion and 20 prcnt frm its effect .. they got afraid .. its no use of doing war when evrything will gonna end and no one will win or survive .. this fear was the logic of deterrance which preventd the war in becoming hot war .. thats how it acted as a barrier
