(i) strict implementation of water policies. Protective irrigation in stage I and Intensive irrigation in stage II (ii) Cropping pattern should prohibit water intensive crops and more emphasis should be given on citrus fruits (iii) Warbandi system, lining of water courses etc programmes shall be effectively implemented (iv) Areas affected by Salinity and water logging shall be reclaimed (v) Financial aid should be extended towards farmers hailing from poor economic background.
