First heat it in a closed beaker and collect the vapours through a delivery tube in a jar. Ammonium chloride sublimes and then the vapours condense to give solid ammonium chloride in the jar. Thus one of the constituents is separated.
Now, add water in the beaker. The salt will dissolve. Pass the solution through a filter paper into another beaker. The salt solution passes in and the sand is collected on the filter paper.
Now heat the salt solution. The water will evaporate leaving behind the salt as residue.
Thus all the constituents of the mixture are separated.
