(1) The supression degree of dissociation of weak electrolyte upon the addition of strong electrolyte having common ions between them is known as common ion effect.
(2) A substance's solubility product, Ksp, is the mathematical product of its dissolved ion concentrations with each concentration raised to the power of their stoichiometric coefficients.
For example the solubility product of ionic compound Ag2S is
Ksp =[Ag+]2[S-2]
(3) A solution which resists any change in its pH on dilution or on the addition of small amount of a strong acid or a strong alkali is called a buffer solution. It is formed by the combination of weak acid/base and its salt with strong base/acid.
