Griffin robbed the vicar's house because he wanted money to pay his bills at the coach and horses inn as was as well as to pay for the material required for conducting his experiment the robbery occurred in the early morning when the Vicar's wife heard noises in the house and woke up the vicar. both of them went down to their studies to investigate as noises coming from it suggested that someone was searching for something there then they saw a candle being lit heard the sound of coins jangling and the sound of men sneezing but when they searched the room with lamp they could not see anybody they hear the sneeze in the passage Mr bunting ran there but Griffin went out of the passage through the kitchen door though Mr bunting try to catch him he could not as Griffin was totally invisible Griffin used his invisibility to rob the vicar's house
