Difference between mass and weight-:

• Mass is the total matter contained in a body while weight is the force with which an object is attracted towards the earth.

•SI unit of mass and weight are different.

SI unit of mass - Kg (Kilogrammes)
SI unit of weight - N (Newton)

• Mass is constant, it won't change due to position. While weight isn't constant, it will change due to position. Suppose, the object is
taken at the center of the earth where gravity is 0, we know that,

W=mg
W= m×0
W=0

Weight will change due to change in position.

• Mass can never be zero, while weight can be.

• Mass is a scalar quantity , having only a magnitude and no role of direction.

• Weight is a vector quantity having a magnitude as well as a direction on its own.

• Mass is most probably measured by use of a beam balance while weight is measured by use of a spring balance usually.
