Mahatma Gandhi had played a crucial role in Satyagraha in South Africa and was evolving as a hope of eradicating the role of British in Governance. The first step was the Champaran Satyagraha. The high revenues were demanded by Britishers and some part of surplus was also to be given to them. Mahatma Gandhi launched satyagraha in favour of those poor peasants which included various oppositions as hartal , dharna, etc. Finally with the help of his moderatism and with the judicial support, he helped the farmers in lowering down of taxes and exemption from the forced laws
