The flow of electric energy is called an electric current.
An electric circuit is a path of wires and the electric components through which electric current flows.
The electric current is actually flow of charged particles in a conductor.
When the positive terminal of one cell is joined with the negative terminal of the other cell then the cells are said to be joined in series.
To make a battery the positive terminal of one cell is always kept in contact with the negative terminal of the other cell.
