Steps in Rutherford's gold foil experiment to determine the structure of atom.
1) A radiation source was placed in a lead box.
2) A flow of alpha particles from the source was allowed to collide with a piece of gold foil.
3) The flow of alpha particles through gold foil was recorded on a florescent screen.
