The excretory system removes metabolic wastes from the body.
The major organs of excretion are the kidneys, a pair of bean-shaped organs located below the liver. The kidneys filter blood and regulate water balance in the body.
The skin, which removes excess water and salt via sweat, the lungs, which exhale carbon dioxide, and the liver, which breaks down toxic substances in the blood and convert nitrogenous waste into urea.
The human circulatory system is mainly composed of three main components. These are the heart, blood vessels, and blood. Let us now look at these components in further detail.
The circulatory system is made up of blood vessels that carry blood away from and towards the heart. Arteries carry blood away from the heart and veins carry blood back to the heart.
The circulatory system carries oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to cells, and removes waste products, like carbon dioxide.
