Northern plains is depression caused by the formation of Himalayas , which is being filled by the silt,mud carried by rivers(Ganga,Indus,Bhramputra) from the Himalayas. Northern plains are very productive and fertile in nature for many crops. Plains are also suitable for the development of railways, industries due to which they are having very high population.
