In rural areas most people are below the poverty line. moreover, due to the patriarchal mindset. women are considered fit for only household work, thus people find it unimportant to spend their resources on women's education. another factor may be that people fear that once educated women will be aware about her rights and the discrimination done against her. this will lead to problems for the men to control and oppress women in their houses.
