GIVEN:
frequency( n) =2kHz= 2 x 1000 Hz= 200Hz
[ 1kHz = 1000 Hz]
Wavelength(λ) = 40cm=40/100=0.4m
[ 1cm = 1/100 m]
Distance= 1.6km= 1.6x1000m = 1600 m
[1km = 1000 m]
Speed of sound(V)= frequency× wavelength
V =2000×0.4
V=800m/s
Speed=Distance/ time
Time= distance/ speed
Time = 1600/ 800
Time =2sec.
Hence, the time required to travel 1.6km is 2sec.
