It depends. If talking to family, there is no proper format required. But for sake of formality, the format used is- Senders address Date Salutation (Dear Prithvi,) Content Informal sign-off (Hope to see you soon) Your name (Ved) [full name is not required as it is understood that informal lettters are written to people you know well]
