2 KMnO4 + 5 H2SO3→ K2SO4 + 2 MnSO4 + 2 H2SO4 + 3 H2O

2 moles of KMnO4 react with 5 moles of sulphite ion in acidic solution.Thus, 2/5 moles of KMnO4 will react with 1 mole of sulphite ion.
