5x=100 5 to the power of x equals 100 Take the log of both sides log10(5x)=log10(100) Rewrite the left side of the equation using the rule for the log of a power x•log10(5)=log10(100) Isolate the variable x by dividing both sides by the constant term log10(5) x = log10(100) log10(5)
