Martha Washington was Helen's cook's daughter. Helen spent most of her time with her. Martha wad Helen's constant companion. They played together and were partners in mischiefs. Martha could understand Helen's sign language and submitted to her easily. Martha and Helen would go to stable, place where corns were kept ,kneed dough in kitchen ,feed hens and turkeys and haunt for eggs in the long grasses.
