According to the story Deep Water in flamingo book, we are afraid of death because before death, it gives us a lot of pain and also, we fear of loosing everything that we have like family , friends, etc.

Fear or threat is intrinsic to human existence. I mean just to contempolate with the ides that the life that we created with our loved ones and family would mean nothing one day so the fear of loosing them or losing ourselves and not being in this world gives goosebumps to everyone... i guess.
