NAM - Non aligned movement 5 founder members of NAM are: 1) Nehru(India) 2) Naseer(Egypt) 3) Sukarno(Indonesia) 4) Nkrumah(Ghana) 5) Tito(Yugoslavia) ✓ NAM was developed as a response to rising tensions in the world during the cold war years. ✓ The first summit of NAM took place in 1961 in belgrade it was attended by 25 member countries. At present there are 120 member countries of NAM along with 17 observer nations.

It Is difficult to define NAM in its real term. It is relatively easy to define it what it was not actually. It was neither isolationism nor neutrality and definitely as NEHRU JI said " not a policy of fleeing away".
