    Boric acid is polymeric due to :

    (i) its acidic nature

    (ii) the presence of hydrogen bonds

    (iii) the monobasic nature 

    (iv) its geometry. units are joined by hydrogen bonds to give a layer structure which ispolymeric in nature.
