Green revolution was a initative started during primeminister ship of Jawahar lal Nehru under this programme following steps were taken 1.HYV seeds such as of wheat and rice were imported from mexico and phillipines. 2.Irrigation facility was builtup in order to provide sufficent water supply to crops such as rice and to help to grow crops in drought prone areas. 3.Fertilizers was used to enhance the fertility of soil and to provide nutrious contents to the crop. 4.Chemicals and Pesticides were used to prevent crops from Pest and Rodents. POSITIVE OUTCOME:Agriculture was now devloping and crop productivity and Crop per area was increased. NEGATIVE OUTCOME:Was limited only to northern states of India for eg.Punjab,Western Uttarparadesh and Haryana. 2.Using high fertilizers and Chemicals led to land degredation and causes surface runoff water pollution.
