Nicola and Jacopo in the chapter are two little boys who work all the day for their livelihood and to earn money for the treatment of their sister.They used to do many odd jobs like selling wild strawberries,polishing shoes,selling newspapers till midnight etc it shows that they were very hardworking and didnt choose begging to earn money. The entry of the author in the lives of the boys was no less than any blessing and the author seems to be a gift from god to them he not only helped them earning money (by buying strawberries from them,by making their tourist guide etc.) but also dropped them to their sisters hospital which was far away this is very uncommon for a tourist and can only be done by a pure soul.
