the question is wrong. the last line must be- If the final velocity is 8 m/s, what be the deceleration in 5s? Answer- In case 1, u=0m/s v=12m/s t=30s a=v-u/t =12-0/30 =12/30 =2/5 =0.4 m/s^2 In case 2, u=12m/s v=8m/s t=5s a=v-u/t =8-12/5 =-4/5 =-0.8m/s^2
