When Helen was accused of plagiarism, she felt ashamed, but over a time she put this incident behind her and started writing again. This disturbed Helen so much that she forgot to smile, to read or do anything else. Helen had to appear before a court of investigation and she was questioned and cross-questioned. Such a disgrace broke Helen's heart and she wept bitterly at night. Miss Sullivan encouraged Helen to write about her personal life for a magazine called Youth's Companion.
