Endonuclease enzyme is the enzyme which breaks the phosphodiester bond present anywhere inside the DNA molecule; while restriction endonuclease enzymes are the enzymes which breaks the nucleotide sequences at specific location only. Restriction endonucleases cut at specific nucleotide sequences known as restriction sites.
