    Some characteristics of animal Kingdom are: *Animals are eukaryotic, multicellular and heterotrophic. *They have multiple cells with mitochondria and are dependent on other organisms for food. *Habitat - Most of the animals inhabit seas, fewer are seen in fresh water, even on land, air or trees. *They are around 9 to 10 million animal species that inhabit the earth while only 800,000 species are identified. *Size of animals range from unicellular organisms like bacteria to multicellular organisms like blue whale.
