Neutralisation is a chemical reaction in which an acid and a base react quantitatively with each other.
- To treat acidic and basic soil
- To treat acidic effluents in industry.
- To treat gastric patients and to prevent tooth decay

Reaction of acid and base is known as neutralisation reaction. During acidity we use antacid to neutralise the effect of acid.
