    In order to cure indigestion ,we take weak base called antacid.such as milk of magnesia contain magnesium hydroxide,which helps to neutralise the effect of excessive acid

    Becoz antacid is a base(accepted by our body)and if we take it than the acidity and base will react to make the acidity neutral
