A and B were partners in a firm sharing profiys and losses in 5:3. They admit C as a new partner. The new profit sharing ratio between A B and C was 3:2:3. A surrendered 1/5th share in favour of C. Calculate B,s Sacrifice.....
Solution as per cbse marking scheme
B sacrifice = old share - new share
3/8 -2/8 = 1/8
But my solution differs which was as follows:
A sacrifice= 1/5 × 5/8 = 1/8
C new share = 3/8
New partners gain = old partners sacrifice
C Gain = A sacrifice + B sacrifice
3/8 = 1/8 + B sacrifice
B sacrifice = 3/8 - 1/8 , ie., 2/8
