He was the prince of his kingdom. He is known as happy prince because when he was alive he live in a palace where sorrow was not allowed to enter in the palace. So he hasn't feel sorrow. After when he died so his statue was made too big that he could see everything happening in his city. So npw he can see the sorrow of his city
