The story the lost child is an open ended story .the author wants its reader to imagine that at the end did the child find his parents . I think the child met his parents because the man who helped the child was generous and would have asked the child's parents identity and the child would have been reunited with his parents back with the kind man's help because in the story also its mentioned that his parents were wearing yellow clothes so man would have find the child 's parents and they happily after

I think the child finds its parents if that man inform the security guard so he can help the child finding his parents.
