Acid rain is the rain which contains small amount of acids formed from acidic gases in the air like sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides present in polluted air.

Acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic, meaning it  is caused by emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide, which react with the water molecules in the atmosphere to produce acids.
