For the both downward and upward ) And accelaration a=-9.8m/s2(- appera because of upward motion agains gravity) and final velocity at height is v=0.......{2.},,,,,,,,,, now to be found initial velocity u=?{3.},,,,,,,,,,,, Using first equatiin of motion (because we have the quantities a,v,t ,u?) So v=u+at now putting the values we have 0=u-9.8×3,,,,,,,,,,,,so u=9.8×3=29.4m/s

58.8m/s v=u+at v will be 0 at the highest point so,0=u+9.8×6 u= --58.8m/s

First of all acceleration is -9.8m/s2. Answer- 29.4m/s
