Nucleus contain chromosomes which are the unit of Inheritance of features of their parents to the next generation. Chromosomes contain DNA functional segments of DNA are genes but in a Cell when the cell is not dividing the DNA is present as a part of chromatin material in the cell but when the cell is about to divide chromatin material get organised into the chromosomes chromatin material look like and Tangled mass of the thread like structures
