The champaran episode became as a begining to attempt the ease of sufferings large no of poor peasents and to set the image of Gandhi ji's in front of nation...In this movement he got thousands of people's support..Gandhi ji admits that movement done that was an extra ordinary thing ...So this movement is considered as a turning point in Gandhi ji's life ....

It was gandhi ji's first movement which he done for the nation and indian people/farmer after returning from south africa. After this movement he became popular social worker. Before this movement no one knows him as he has to live outside the house of rajendrprasad with ordinary farmer.
