The process in which acid reacts with base to form salt and water is callled neutralisation. This can be written as----- Hydrochloric Acid (HCI) + Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) = Sodium Chloride (NaCl) + Water (H2O) For eg:- When a bee stings, we rub calamine solution on it. Bee sting contains formic acid and which is neutralised by rubbing bases like calamine solution.
